A major challenge facing all law firms is the management of information assets and a complex web of business critical operations. A typical law firm leverages several disjointed systems to handle case management, financial management and document management. Often these systems house duplicate data required for multiple functions. Shearman had invested in several primary systems to support its global operations. One of the most critical is Elite—Shearman’s master store for client matter data. Other critical systems including Interaction and LegalKEY require client matter data from Elite. Shearman needed a solution for more effective and efficient communication between these systems.
